Mr. Paul Kanjanapas talks about his management style and business approach in an exclusive interview with The Cloud

Paul Kanjanapas, chief executive officer of Bangkok Land Co., Ltd, shares his past experiences with The Cloud. As the second generation heir growing up in a multibillion-dollar family, he always had all he wanted and knew his family expected him to continue the legacy and cultivate the business’s future, but when the Asian financial crisis came around in 1998, his family faced massive financial disruptions, leading to billion dollars in debt. Most gave up and went bankrupt, but the Kanjanapas, one of the wealthiest families in Thailand, used negotiation techniques to get out of the financial crisis while transforming thousand pieces of land to turn a profit. Those pieces of land have now become known as Muang Thong Thani city, a thriving mecca of tourism, entertainment, as well as exhibition business.

The two brothers, Peter and Paul Kanjanapas, team up to manage Bangkok Land Co., Ltd to carry on the family legacy and make Muang Thong Thani city thrive. Paul is determined to take IMPACT, short for IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, to new heights.

A journalist from The Cloud meets Paul in person at Lenôrte Culinary Arts School Thailand to conduct an in-depth interview and dive deep into his multi-million-dollar business including The Coffee Academics Thailand, in which he enters into a new partnership with the founder Jennifer Liu, and IMPACT FARM, an organic farming initiative funded by Bangkok Land Co., Ltd. Paul further states that he doesn’t’ have any passion. All he thinks is how he can make money out of those pieces of empty land. Can you imagine a young man in his early 20s’ carrying multi-billion dollars on his shoulder? “Looking out of the window, I know I have to do something with my empty land. It’s very challenging. I must go big or go home,” Paul said.
