Behind the scenes of how the project
'Old Vinyl to New Bag (Bag Again)' came to life
Recently, many of our IMPACT fellows had the opportunity to support and donate to psychiatric patients and homeless individuals at the Homeless Shelter in Nonthaburi through beautifully crafted vinyl bag products from the "Old Vinyl to New Bag (Bag Again)" project, led by the Real Estate team.
Did you know that before this successful project, the Real Estate team had a specific process for producing vinyl bags for donation? Today, IMPACT Insight would like to share the behind-the-scenes story of this project.
The idea for this project originated from the Media department of the Real Estate team, which provides advertising space rental services for customers, including event organizers, exhibitors, and fan clubs of various artists. Some of the advertising banners used for these events were made of vinyl, and once the events concluded, many of these banners were no longer used. As a result, they become waste that is difficult to decompose and could lead to environmental issues.
Therefore, to address the aforementioned problem, the Real Estate team came up with the idea of “convert vinyl into a bag”. They began collecting unused vinyl banners and enlisted their colleagues ' help cutting them into usable pieces. These pieces were then delivered to the Homeless Shelter in Nonthaburi and transformed into bags.
This project is not only about creating jobs and providing employment opportunities for psychiatric patients and homeless individuals but also about reducing waste and promoting environmental sustainability.
Furthermore, some vinyl bags produced through the "Old Vinyl to New Bag (Bag Again)" project were sold to the IMPACT community in February 2025 at Beehive Life Style Mall and the Food Arena in The Portal Building. All proceeds from the sales, after covering expenses, were donated to the Homeless Shelter in Nonthaburi. IMPACT Insight has captured moments from this activity for everyone to see.
