Get ready for Sustainable Event Management System (ISO 20121)
Stage 1 audit
Over the past several months, we believe IMPACT members should be aware that IMPACT has been working towards obtaining certification for a Sustainable Event Management System (ISO 20121). This standard will create opportunities and enhance confidence for clients using our services, reflecting our commitment to hosting events that consider all aspects of impact, including the environment, society, economy, and governance, throughout the event period."
On 27th September, IMPACT welcomed auditors from SGS (Thailand) Co., Ltd. for an initial Pre-Audit assessment. This will help us to be prepared for the certification of the ISO 20121 standard, with the goal of completing the certification by December.
Although the Pre-Audit assessment does not impact the certification process, it serves as a gap analysis to identify areas for improvement and development. In this effort, representatives from all departments thoroughly prepared both the venue and the necessary documents for the evaluation.
The audit results provided several suggestions for improvement, such as controlling contractor operations, handling chemicals, managing and controlling waste including trash, wastewater, and used chemicals, inspecting safety in high-risk areas like confined spaces, verifying tools and equipment, and ensuring that operations align with sustainable event management guidelines.
Overall, the suggestion will be used to enhance and develop
the process for Stage 1 audit assessment on 28 - 29 October.
