IMPACT members, get ready for “ISO 20121:
Event Sustainability Management Systems”

What is ISO 20121: Sustainable Event Management System?

ISO 20121 is a standard for organizing events in an environmentally, socially, and governance-responsible manner, ensuring that MICE businesses operate sustainably and can compete on a global scale. The focus is on event management that considers the impact in all areas - such as the environment, society, economy, and governance - throughout the event’s lifecycle.

IMPACT has sought certification for sustainable event management (Green Package) across five types of events: meetings, weddings, parties, exhibitions, and concerts.

IMPACT has assessed the organizational context and stakeholder needs, and developed a sustainable event policy that includes risk and opportunity assessments, objective setting, goals, action plans, workflows, internal audits, and continuous improvements to meet requirements. These measures are designed to guide and control the organization in sustainable event management.

  • How can ISO 20121  benefit MICE businesses?
  1. Reduce environmental impact.
  2. Save operational costs and expenses.
  3. Increases stakeholder  satisfaction
  4. Enhance operational efficiency
  5. Ensure compliance with laws and global standards
  6. Build credibility and a positive image as an organizer and venue with international standards

IMPACT Insight encourages employees to be part of the effort to protect the planet by supporting and cooperating in the implementation of the company’s standard systems. Each contribution is a small yet essential step in making IMPACT a sustainably operated organization.
