Get to know Tanabata festival and make wishes upon the stars
at Nippon Yokocho.
Tanabata, or the star festival is held once a year on the 7th day of the 7th month. Many places in Japan celebrate this festival by decorating with bamboo branches hung with wish papers, paper streamers, and various colorful paper decorations. The Japanese have a tradition of writing their wishes on rectangular pieces of paper called Tanzaku, which come in five different colors, each representing different types of wishes. These are then hung on bamboo branches.
This year, for those who want to "make a wish upon the stars" during the Tanabata Festival without traveling all the way to Japan, IMPACT Insight invites everyone to dress beautifully in Japanese-style attire to match the atmosphere, write their wishes, and enjoy delicious izakaya-style food with over 100 menu items and drinks at "Nippon Yokocho".
The event also features activities for everyone to join in the fun. Simply dress in Japanese-style clothing or change into the outfits provided by the restaurant, and participate in the "Snap & Share & Check-in at Nippon Yokocho" activity to receive a free "Zaru Udon" or "Highball" (one item per person).
Don’t forget to invite your friends to celebrate this special Tanabata Festival from now until July 7, 2024.
During this Tanabata Festival, "Nippon Yokocho" had the opportunity to welcome more than 10 influencers who came to experience the atmosphere and enjoy the delicious food. Let’s check out the photos of the event together.
